DOLE ZDSFO conducts Kalayaan TNK Job and Business Fair in Molave

The Department of Labor and Employment thru its Zamboanga del Sur Field Office (DOLE-ZDSFO) and the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) under the Local Government Unit of Molave Municipality, Zamboanga del Sur commemorated the 120th Anniversary of Philippines' Independence and 70th Araw ng Molave with a Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) Job and Business Fair last June 11, 2018 at the Municipal Gymnasium.
DOLE 9 Regional Director Ofelia B. Domingo said that the activity mainly catered to the jobseekers in search of both local and overseas employment. She added that a total of 8,841 vacancies for overseas employment and 353 local employment awaited them during the TNK.
Out of the 257 job applicants who registered for the job fair, 43 were hired on the spot (HOTS) while 139 were deemed near-hires who only need to submit additional requirements or undergo further interviews to qualify for the job.
With the participation of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TEDSA), activities such as seminars on entrepreneurship, livelihood displays by exhibitors, free learn a craft lessons (fashion jewelry making, papercraft making) and skills demonstration on free services such as haircut, massage and nail care were conducted in the same venue.
Meanwhile, as World Day Against Child Labor coincides with Araw ng Kalayaan, DOLE 9 presented the salient features of the Child Labor Program with emphasis on the basic rights of children and the child labor laws.
Municipal Mayor Ireneo Q. Glepa expressed his heartfelt thanks to partner agencies for the opportunities presented to the constituents of Zamboanga del Sur province. He hopes that the convergence will continue to do greater things in the name of public service.
