DOLE 9 conducts Labor Standards and Productivity Enhancement Session

ZAMBOANGA CITY ? The Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office IX (DOLE 9) in coordination with Occupational Safety and Health Standard IX (OSHC 9), Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) 9 and Social Security System (SSS), conducted a Labor Standards and Productivity Enhancement Session on October 6, 2017 at the Cordova Hall, Palacio del Sur, Zamboanga City.
DOLE Regional Director Ofelia B. Domingo shared that the activity is designed to equip the beneficiaries with knowledge and skills to manage their chosen livelihood enterprise effectively and sustainably.
Prior to the learning session, 15 beneficiaries who are kin of soldiers killed and wounded in action and police operations (KIA/WIA/KIPO/WIPO) received their Kabuhayan Starter Kits during the grand opening program of the Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan Fair. They were invited to attend the seminar and add up to the 26 participants who are informal sector workers and rescued workers of human trafficking in Jolo, Sulu.
Ms. Joy Reneeli Espinosa of OSHC 9 presented the topic on Occupational Safety and Health for Informal Sector Workers. Mr. Paul Dominic R. Cruz and Mr. Erwin L. Salcedo, both Accounts Officers of SSS discussed SSS Benefits, Programs and Services while Mr. Sabino Romero tacked Productivity Enhancement.
The session is a component event highlighted by this year's Trabaho Negosyo Kabuhayan Fair, a joint program undertaken by DOLE and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) which aims to help achieve the government's goal of generating 7.5 million jobs by 2022.
