2017 Career Guidance Advocacy Kicks off in Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay

Ipil, ZSP- The Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office No. 9 (DOLE9) thru its Zamboanga Sibugay Field Office (ZSFO) in partnership with the Department of Education- Zamboanga Sibugay Schools Division (DEPED ZSSD) kicked off its Career Guidance Advocacy Program (CGAP) 2017 in Buug District, Zamboanga Sibugay last July 21, 2017.
Director Ofelia B. Domingo shared that the CGAP is a program which primarily caters to all secondary school students specifically those in Grades 9 & 12 and their parents.
It aims to contribute to the reduction of the job-skills mismatch by providing students and parents with adequate labor market information so they are guided into choosing courses that will lead to gainful employment and equip them to become entrepreneurs.
For this year, CGAP adopted the theme "Follow the Guide, Tag a Career, Like the Future" which was presented during the opening salvo in Buug. In attendance to the said program were the Officer-in-Charge Schools Division Superintendent, Oliver B. Talaoc, Ed. D., Mona Lisa Babiera, Ed.D. Division Guidance Counselor Coordinator, Hector L. Yap, Senior LEO of DOLE ZSFO, PESO Managers from Imelda and Buug and the guidance counselors from the different schools.
The Career Guidance Advocacy will run from July to September covering the entire province of Zamboanga Sibugay. END
