Sibugay Technical Institute Incorporated Job Fair Rakes in 29% HOTS

Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay - Sibugay Technical Institute Incorporated (STII), in its 13th Founding Anniversary celebrated the annual event through week-filled activities engaging its students, alumni and stakeholders.
Part of the week's festivities was the conduct of a Job Fair on August 5, 2016. The activity was in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment- Zamboanga Sibugay Field Office (DOLE-ZSFO) and the school's Public Employment Service Office (PESO).There were five (5) local employers with 138 employment opportunities, and three (3) international manpower agencies with 6,742 openings as well. Amassing a total of 6,880 career opportunities. 155 applicants (91 female, 54 male) registered and 46 were hired on the spot.
Ma. Bella Chiong-Javier, the President and CEO of STII said that the Job Fair was a yearly activity since the establishment of the PESO in 2005 and it has been the school's way of giving back to the students and communities it served.
The event was graced by Dir. Sisinio B. Cano, Regional Director of DOLE Regional Office 9 who congratulated the Administrators of STII for thelaudable effort to facilitate employment opportunities for their graduates, alumni and other jobseekers in the province. He also encouraged job seekers to take advantage of the employment opportunities offered in the Jobs Fairby highlighting their skills, qualifications and abilities needed by employers. Alongside him were Ms. Marietta M. Bellotindos, the OIC-Regional Extension Unit of POEA who gave input on Anti-Illegal Recruitment, Ms. Imelda F. Gatinao, Chief-DOLE ZSFO, DTI Zamboanga Sibugay representative and other school officials.
It is through this initiative that the Department together with its partners and stakeholders are able to provide decent employment opportunities to the community thus providing them access to a better life. (End)
