MAY GANANG SUMAGANA ANG BUHAY NG MGA KASAMBAHAY
March 27, 2016
Dipolog City - A fun-filled learning experience shook the day of some domestic helpers last February 20, 2016 at the Turno Barangay Hall, Turno, Dipolog City. DOLE Zanorte made it a point to celebrate Araw ng Kasambahay dubbed as Skills Training on Food Preparation and Presentation with its theme "Araw ng Kasambahay: May Ganang Sumagana ang Buhay ng mga Kasambahay" to fully implement its support and advocacy on Republic Act 10361 otherwise known as Domestic Workers Act or "Batas Kasambahay."
Teaming up with Barangay Turno, SSS, Philhealth, and Pag-ibig, 37 domestic workers or "kasambahays" enjoyed acquiring more skills on food preparation and presentation during their training. Everyone savored the scrumptious food they exquisitely prepared.
"We are glad that DOLE also looks into the situations of our kasambahays. Letting the people of our barangay know that DOLE is making a move in the promotion of RA 10361 and giving their support on the welfare and protection of our kasambahay can help in the intensification of our own mandate," as Barangay Chairman Meynard R Baes expressed on his welcome remark.
Our partners from the SSS represented by Roe Van Patangan and Niel Falconite, Philhealth represented by Cristito Ruales, and Pag-ibig represented by Ronaldo Uycoco and Vicente Tangcalagan Jr. actively orient the kasambahays of the benefits their offices can provide. They too painted the day red as they joined the festive mood of the participants.
Before the day ended, Mrs. Lourdes B. Amores, FO Head, encouraged our kasambahays to also consider their welfare by cooperating through registering themselves at their respective barangays.
