DOLE Celebrates 113th Araw ng Paggaawa in Isabela City

Isabela City - DOLE Isabela City Field Office (ICFO) in partnership with the Isabela City Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (ICTIPC) commemorated the 113th Labor Day in the City of Isabela with the theme: "Disenteng Trabaho at Kabuhayan, Alay Natin Sa Bayan," on May 01, 2015.
To honor the working class in this city, this Office had lined-up three (3) activities, the clean-up drive, turn-over of starter kits and Gender and Development orientation (GAD).
The activity was formally opened by Mr. Ian A. Lahi, ICFO Head. In his message, he warmly welcomed all the participants and expressed his gratitude for positively responding to the invitation.
Meanwhile, the Araw ng Paggawa festivity in Isabela City was actively participated in by 178 participating partners (employers and employees) both from the private (establishments and Non-Governmental Organization) and public sector (LGU; PNP; Schools; and the like); who demonstrated their unflinching support to the Department by offering their precious time to the public during the clean-up drive held in the City. The activity started at DOLE Isabela City Field Office enrouting to City Hall and public market.
During the said event, fifty (50) starter kits beneficiaries were provided with livelihood assistance amounting to Three Hundred Seven Thousand Six Hundred Sixty-Seven Pesos (P307,667.00), which was released in the form of equipment, tools and jigs, raw materials and other needed supplies in setting-up a small business.
Fifty-three (53) participants were also oriented on Gender and Development issues, specifically, "Inequality Matters." The activity was participated in by the TIPC Officers, Laborers, NGO workers, and SPES grantees.
The 113th Labor Day celebration was successfully conducted in the City of Isabela. All key players in labor and management sector have exerted their efforts in achieving the goal of the Department towards industrial peace.
