August 17, 2014
The DOLE Zamboanga Sibugay Field Office together with 40 GIP's and 76 Starter Kit Beneficiaries actively participated in "ALAY LINIS 2014", a clean-up drive for Ipil, last July 14, 2014. The activity was spearheaded by LGU Ipil and participated by Zamboanga Sibugay National High School, Women's Association of Sanito, the 102nd Brigade Infantry Battalion, Special Forces Battalion from Tungawan and other National Government Agencies and Non-Governmental Organizations. The stakeholders gathered at Ipil Municipal Plaza at exactly 6 o'clock in the morning for the clean-up drive activity and each was given an assigned area to be cleaned.
The DOLE ZSFO with the GIP's and Starter Kit Beneficiaries cleaned the streets of Purok Kaimito, Brgy. Tirso Babiera, going to the side of Marian College, Metro Ipil, Rotunda and the Ipil Municipal Plaza.
After the "Alay Linis 2014" activity all of the 76 Starter Kit Beneficiaries proceeded to Santiago Grill, Lower Taway, for the Entrepreneurship, Productivity and Basic Occupational Training and which was conducted by DOLE and facilitated by Mrs. Jocelyn V. Buen, the Administrative Assistant of DOLE ZSFO.
The "ALAY LINIS 2014" was very successful in its goal to raise awareness and awaken social responsibility of stakeholders in protecting the environment. The DOLE family was very delighted and proud to help Ipil in restoring its cleanliness. This activity can inspire and empower people to clean up and fix up, for a cleaner and healthier environment.
