DOLE Kabuhayan Starter Kits for Vigorous PWDs of Leon Postigo Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) are one of the vulnerable groups that need utmost attention, particularly in the aspect of employment. With this, DOLE in partnership with Municipal Social Welfare Development Office (MSWDO), Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and Persons with Disability (PWD) Coordinator of Leon B. Postigo, Zamboanga del Norte conducted a Consultation Dialogue and Project Evaluation of the proposed Kabuhayan Starter Kits under DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) on September 6, 2013 to the identified Twenty Three (23) organized PWDs with their families of Leon B. Postigo, Zamboanga del Norte. DOLE shall afford funding-assistance to qualified beneficiaries vis-?-vis their respective projects with partnership from other agencies for other inputs in making their entrepreneurial undertakings grow into viable and sustainable businesses.
Starter Kits on Carpentry, Fishing jigs and tools, Battery Charging Services, and Food Processing (Rice cake making, lechon making and banana que) were proposed.
PWDs showed interest and excitement for this undertaking. They were thankful for this government initiative in consulting them come-up with projects for the betterment of their lives and families.
