3Y PROGRAM MOVERS MEET FOR THE LIVELIHOOD PROJECT OF PORTERS

Local economic development and the growth of tourism industry inDapitan, Dipolog, Polanco, Katipunan, Roxas, and Manukan (DDPKaRoMa) Alliance are two major factors in the conceptualization and formulation of One Locality, One Industry and One Service Quality (3Y) Program, spearheaded by the Department of Labor and Employment Region 9 (DOLE RO 9) , in partnership with the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board and various agencies.
The 3Y Program is a convergence of different National Government Agencies (NGA's), Academe and Private Sector. The objective is to develop the community and its tourism industry through collaborative partnership of stakeholders, to primarily promote local business and improve service quality. The proposed project was envisioned by the proponent-SKYCAP AIRPORT WORKERS' ASSOCIATION to engage in shuttle service of passengers at the airport to any point in ZAMBOANGA peninsula.
The project is intended to provide the airport workers additional source of income thru this livelihood undertaking and in line with their objective of providing on time quality service to the passengers, especially those who will need shuttle services from the airport to anywhere in the Zamboanga Peninsula, and vice versa.
TESDA commits to train 10 members on auto mechanic, servicing and driving; DDPKaRoMa, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Interior and Local Government, Jose Rizal Memorial State University-Main Campus, Dapitan on Organizational and Management Training; and, DOLE under its Workers Income-Augmentation Program (WIN-AP) to provide funding assistance of around P250, 000.00 for the acquisition of shuttle van (common service facility) meant for group-undertaking.
