DOLE9 Regional Director Ofelia B. Domingo disclosed that thousands of workers and jobseekers participated in the said celebration with the theme “Matatag na Trabaho at Kabuhayan tungo sa Progresibong Pagbabago”.

No less than the Assistant Secretary Joji A. Aragon of DOLE’s Legal, Legislative and International Affairs Cluster graced the said occasion and delivered Labor Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III’s message during the opening program.

Representatives from the Management and Labor Sector also gave their inspirational messages. Mr. Edwin To of the Zamboanga City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation Incorporated emphasized the importance of employees’ attitude towards work especially that they play a significant role in the dynamics of a business work environment. On the other hand, Mr. Jose J. Suan of the Philippine Integrated Industries Labor Union - Trade Union Congress of The Phils (PIILU-TUCP) aired the laborers’ demands and needs toward a healthier working environment.

RD Domingo headed the cutting of the ribbon which marked the formal opening of the activities lined up for Labor Day.
