Pagadian City – DOLE ZDSFO headed by Ms. Lourdes B. Amores in coordination with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Vincenzo Sagun conducted an orientation on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) and distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to sixty (60) TUPAD beneficiaries in Vincenzo Sagun, Zamboanga del Sur on May 27, 2014 held at J.H. Cerilles State College – Vincenzo Sagun Campus.

The aim of the OSH orientation is to help the LGU-Vincenzo Sagun provide each TUPAD beneficiary with employment and a place of employment that is free from recognized hazards, so he or she can go home each day just as whole and healthy as he or she arrived at work in the morning.

It was formally opened by Ms. Juvy M. Aya-ay, PESO Manager of LGU-Vincenzo Sagun. In her message, she warmly welcomes and extends her gratitude to the Department of Labor and Employment for the rare opportunity given to their constituents particularly the disadvantage workers.

In preparation for the groundbreaking of Tulong Pangkabuhayan sa Ating Disadvantage Workers (TUPAD) Project: Canal Dredging and Tree Planting Activity, Ms. Lourdes B. Amores, DOLE ZDSFO Head, enthusiastically shared facts or information on OSH to the TUPAD beneficiaries of LGU-Vincenzo Sagun. In her talks, she mentioned that the participants must also be appreciative of the government programs and services for they were among the chosen beneficiaries of the said project. Some participants eagerly expressed their thanks to the Department of Labor and Employment for the extraordinary employment assistance extended to them.

Thereafter, Ms. Lourdes B. Amores, DOLE-Zamboanga del Sur Field Office Head, together with the LGU-Vincenzo Sagun Sangguniang Bayan Members headed by Hon. Perlibeth R. Maasin, SB Member, Ms. Aya-ay, PESO Manager, and some DOLE staff vigorously distributed the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the sixty (60) beneficiaries of LGU- Vincenzo Sagun. Among the PPE provided to the beneficiaries are: boots, protective clothing (long sleeve sweatshirt) and hats.

Indeed, gratitude is manifested in the faces of the sixty (60) TUPAD beneficiaries as they vibrantly wore their personal protective equipment together with Ms. Amores, ZDSFO Head, Ms. Aya-ay, PESO Manager, and some other DOLE staff.

Surely, the government programs and services are concretely felt by the common people at some remote areas of Zamboanga del Sur, this time.
