DOLE CLINIC at ECOZONE now fully functional

ZAMBOANGA CITY, June 1 - The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in the Zamboanga Peninsula Region has successfully established its "DOLE Clinic" yesterday at the Zamboanga Economic Zone Authority and Freeport (ZAMBOECOZONE) with the aim of bringing the agency's services to the people, especially among the management and labor sectors in the region.
DOLE9 Regional Director Ofelia B. Domingo, in her speech, said that the DOLE Clinic is a mechanism to reach out to both the management and labor sectors thru a public assistance desk manned by a DOLE technical staff who will address concerns regarding local and overseas employment, entitlements under general labor standards and occupational safety and health standards, labor relations, and livelihood assistance.
She added that when the labor and management sector foster a harmonious relationship, more investors will be encouraged to put up business in the Region, therefore creating more jobs for the Zamboangue?os.
The launching and signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between DOLE and Ecozone was graced by the Zamboanga Ecozone Chairman and Administrator Christopher Lawrence Arnuco and witnessed by District 1 Councilor Myra Paz Abubakar, representing Congressman Celso L. Lobregat. Heads from the Regional Coordinating Committee (RCC) also attended the event as they were also signatories in the MOA wherein they shall also provide the necessary advisory and checklist in the availment of their programs and services.
The establishment of the DOLE Clinic intends to cater to both employers and employees of the Zone's Locators as well as the neighboring barangays where most of the fishing and canning companies are situated.
Employers and employees are encouraged to visit the DOLE Clinic if they have labor concerns as it is open from Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm effective June 5, 2017.#
