DOLE Zamboanga Sibugay celebrates "Pasidungog sa Mamumuo 2017"

The Department of Labor and Employment -Zamboanga Sibugay Field Office (DOLE-ZSFO) hosted the "Pasidungog sa Mamumuo 2017" on May 12, 2017 in line with the 115th Labor Day Celebration.
Regional Director Ofelia B. Domingo said that the activity was a way of giving back to the workers who have contributed to the progress of Zamboanga Sibugay Province. A series of activities were prepared to commemorate this occasion.
In partnership with the Zamboanga Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (TIPC), 2nd Congressional District for its Special Projects Fund for GIP and TUPAD, NCGAP-ZSP Chapter, other government agencies and other stakeholders, DOLE ZSFO initiated a 6-part activity to include a Motorcade, Workers' Wellness Program- ZUMBA entitled 'Manggagawang Healthy, Manggagawang Happy', GIP Launching 'Rising 54' part of the 2nd Congressional District Special Projects Fund (SPF), KSK Awarding and Formal Program, Workers' Got Talent and Partners' Fellowship Night with Ipil Young Workers Acoustic Band Performance.
During the opening program, DOLE awarded 95 Kabuhayan Starter Kits to beneficiaries from LGU Tungawan and walk-in clients from the different municipalities. The kits awarded, amounting to PHP 940,541.04, included tools and jigs for carpentry (29), commercial cooking (14), electrical servicing (1), baking and pastry (5), food processing (26), small engine repair (3), welding services (2), cosmetology (9), barber servicing (1) and bibingka making (2).
To witness the awarding were DOLE9 Assistant Regional Director Albert E. Gutib, ZSP TIPC Chair and Vice Governor Eldwin M. Alibutdan, Evan Capala- representing Cong. Ann K. Hofer, Mayor Carlnan C. Climaco of LGU Tungawan, SB Val Inoferio representing Mayor Anamel C. Olegario of LGU Ipil.
Close to 300 workers and management representatives from across the province witnessed the event. Not only was it a memorable day but also the honoring the immense contribution of workers to the nation's growth and progress. (END/Corazon Fatima P. Penaranda-DOLE ZSFO).
