DOLE 9 sets Job Fair Management System in motion
April 27, 2017
Zamboanga City. April 28. The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office 9 announces today that it will utilize a computer system exclusively developed by its IT department for the conduct of Job Fairs as DOLE is at the forefront of employment facilitation.
The system dubbed as the Job Fair Management System (JFMS) is a computer program with a user friendly interface that eases the difficulties of both employers and DOLE Job Fair focals in coming up with statistical reports. In recent years, Job Fair employers are required to tally all figures manually and at the same time are pressured to submit updated reports to the DOLE Central Office thru a strict reporting timeline.
DOLE9 Regional Director Ofelia B. Domingo said in her message during the Job fair Orientation that this system will enable employers and HR managers to provide timely and accurate reporting and will also give them more time to focus on actually assessing the applicants during the job fair on May 1.She also added that this system is unique to Region 9 alone and is already on its 2nd year of operation.
System developer, Mr. Edilberto Angeles, Jr, shared that JFMS allows for easier jobs and applicants matching. It enables employers to effortlessly encode applicant data into the system, search for their profiles and update their status on whether an applicant is hired on the spot, qualified and already interviewed.
With the advent of the JFMS, employers and DOLE focals will be able to generate accurate Job Fair statistics and reports ready for submission.
The Mega Job Fair happening on May 1, 2017 at both Western Mindanao State University and KCC Mall de Zamboanga is one of DOLE9's activity highlights for the 115th Labor Day Celebration where the JFMS will be efficiently used. /End
