ISENA MO program in Zamboanga City awards P1.178 million to 26 workers

Zamboanga City. With amicable settlement as our core objective, DOLE Zamboanga City Field Office was able to facilitate the awarding of 1.178 million in monetary awards to 26 workers through the application of conciliation-mediation for the first 5 months of the year. The concerns request for assistance (RFA) of rank and file workers ranges from underpayment of minimum wage, 13th month pay, non- payment of regular and special days, separation pay and payment of cash bonds.
For the period covered, this office settled 42 RFAs of the 66 concerns handled with a disposition rate of 85% and an average of 16 days settlement period and resulting to a just, expeditious and inexpensive approach to address labor issues.
With the banner theme, "May Problema sa Trabaho, ISENA Mo", the Single ENtry Approach of DOLE and its' Family of Agencies is a mechanism to provide a speedy, impartial and accessible settlement procedure of all labor issues or conflicts to prevent them from ripening into full blown disputes.
Both our regular and trained Single Entry Approach Desk Officers (SEADOs), Virginia M. Angles and Roque B. Montano are ensuring that all issues be subjected to SENA as an alternative dispute resolution process paving the way for the parties to reach a win-win agreement and restoring better employment and human relations.

"We will continue to apply the conciliation-mediation and sustained the practice of dialogue to preserve employment while enhancing humane and harmonious labor-management relations, thus said Regional Director Sisinio B. Cano.
