DOLE ICFO re-organizes TIPC in Isabela City, Basilan

Isabela City - This field office successfully conducted the Re-organization of ICTIPC Officers cum Learning Session on the Rules on Labor Laws Compliance System (LLCS) -D.O. 131-13 on March 24, 2015 at Joveth's Cusina, this city.
The activity was conducted with these objectives: Elect new set of officers; and orient the officers, members, and other partners; both from public and private on the Rules on Labor Laws Compliance System.
Mr. Ian A. Lahi, Chief LEO, warmly welcomed and expressed his gratitude to all the participants for positively responding to the invitation. In his message, he gave a brief history of the TIPC in Isabela City. He narrated that prior to the inclusion of Basilan to ARMM, Isabela City TIPC was then dubbed as Basilan Tripartite Industrial Peace Council, where the entire province was part of the TIPC.
With the technical know-how of Ms. Nenita LG. Garcia, Senior LEO, Labor Laws Compliance Officer, topics on LLCS, specifically, the processes on the conduct of joint assessment, general labor standards, occupational safety and health standards, productivity, and 5S were triumphantly discussed to the participants.
The activity was participated in by thirty-seven (37) participants coming from both government and private sector, to include the City Government of Isabela, private establishments (employers and laborers), and other partners in the locality.
Apart from the learning session, the TIPC members elected new set of officers: Hon. Cherrylyn Santos-Akbar, Chairperson; with her permanent representative Mr. Ramon T. Nuñal, Jr.; Mr. Danilo Wee and Mr. Walfrando R. Eraham, Vice Chairmen - Management; Mr. Gilbert T. Bacuac and Mr. Mohammad Sali P. Jolo, Vice Chairpersons - Labor; Mr. Henry T. Yu, Treasurer; Mr. Joser G. Tan Sanchez, Assistant Treasurer; and your correspondent as the Secretariat.
As developmental institution with an ultimate goal of maintaining industrial peace in the workplace, enforcing policies on general labor standards and other related rules and regulations in the field of labor and employment, DOLE requests the active involvement and participation of stakeholders or partners in the implementation of the various programs and services, which this field office had exerted effort towards the achievement of that goal.
