KSA Recruits 276 Medical Staff in Zamboanga City

Zamboanga City - The government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) sent delegates from the Ministry of Health (MOH) to recruit 1,600 medical staff in the country. The recruitment was undertaken on August 26-28, 2014 at the Garden Orchid Hotel, Zamboanga City.
The delegation was headed by Mr. Dakihlullah Al-Shabrami of the MOH-KSA and Mr. Omar Al-Safi, Assistant Employment Attache of the Saudi Recruitment Office based in Manila. They were assisted by Ms. Marietta G. Bellotindos of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration REU-9 (POEA REU-9), Labor Attache Adam A. Musa of the National Reintegration Center for OFWs based in Region 9(NRCO) and staff from the Department of Labor and Employment Region 9 (DOLE RO-9).
During the 3-day recruitment, 793 applicants flocked to the hotel for the examination and interview. Immediately, 276 were hired on the spot who are nurses and x-ray specialists. Forty (40) applicants for the respiratory therapists were considered for further skype interview. No placement fee was collected.
Nurses and respiratory therapists will receive SR3, 570 while the x-ray specialists will earn SR8, 050 representing their monthly salary.
Hired applicants were immediately given job assignments in the different hospitals in KSA, have signed offer of employment, and attended the pre-documentation briefing. They were advised to proceed to Manila starting September 1, 2014 to undergo medical examination, pre-departure orientation seminar, and for eventual deployment.
Prior to the actual recruitment, applicants were pre-screened by Mr. Sherwin Mendizabel, NRCO coordinator and Ms. Marietta G. Bellotindos of POEA in Zamboanga Peninsula to ensure substantial compliance of the requirements.
The regional recruitment was part of DOLE 9's support through DOLE Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis- Baldoz and the Regional Coordinating Committee members headed by DOLE- 9 Regional Director Sisinio B. Cano to Zamboanga City Mayor Ma. Isabelle Climaco- Salazar on the rehabilitation program of the City Government of Zamboanga after the stand-off between the members of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) and the military and police authorities which occurred in the City last September 9, 2013 which lasted for almost a month.
