August 17, 2014
Persons With Disability (PWD) of Dipolog grasp hope for livelihood opportunities from DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) as they celebrate the 36th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week themed as "Talino at Paninindigan ng taong may kapansanan: pasaporte sa kaunlaran" with fun, awareness and opportunities together with LGU-Dipolog City, City Social Welfare Office and DOLE -ZDNFO.
One of the lined up activities for PWD is the culmination of the celebration on July 23, 2014 at the City Social Welfare Office Covered Court, Sta. Filomena, Dipolog City, attended by different agencies through presentations and talks of different programs and services.
The culmination is an opportunity to showcase programs and services of DOLE, particularly the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP). It is the Department's contribution to the government's agenda of inclusive growth through massive job generation and poverty reduction. This program gives employment opportunities and livelihood undertakings to the disadvantage workers and beneficiaries from informal sectors. PWDs is one of the vulnerable groups in the country that needs utmost attention, particularly in the aspect of employment, and one of the priority groups to be assisted through the DILEEP.
Members of PWD association of Dipolog City are vigorous and optimistic in dealing with life's challenges. They are differently-able individuals with full of hope and happiness in life.
They are thankful of the existence of the governments' assistance for their improvement; excited with future livelihood undertakings, hence, a passport to success and happiness for a lifetime.
During the activity, PWDs also honor our hero Apolinario Mabini who himself is a PWD, through flower offerings; an inspiration to everyone because of success on his endeavors inspite of his challenges.
