TIPC-DIPOLOG unveils Labor Month Celebration activities

Dipolog City - An Orientation on the newly enacted law for household service workers or the Kasambahay Law and Campaign for Anti-Illegal Recruitment was conducted during the launching of the Search for Outstanding Employees in the Private Sector in Dipolog City on March 20, 2013 at Sangguniang Panlungsod, Dipolog City.
Spearheaded by the Tripartite Industrial Peace Council-Dipolog (TIPC- Dipolog), the activity aimed to obtain support from 21 barangay officials in the advocacies and implementation of the Kasambahay Law and in the prevention of illegal recruitment activities in their respective barangays.
Hon. Mayor Evelyn T. Uy, chairperson of TIPC Dipolog commended the work and partnership of DOLE and TIPC especially in the promotion of peace among and between workers and employers in their work place as well as in the preparation for the forthcoming Labor Month celebration.
One of the highlights is the Search for Outstanding Employees in the Private Sector in Dipolog City, the categories of which are OFFICE UTILITY WORKER, WAITRESS/WAITER, SALESLADY, TRICYCLE DRIVER and HOUSEHOLD SERVICE WORKER/KASAMBAHAY.
P5, 000.00 cash award and plaque of recognition shall be given to the winner per category during the Talenyado Night (TalentadongEmpleyado) and SPES Got Talent which are also the main attraction of the Labor Month celebration in Dipolog City on May 2013.
Moreover, Barangay Officials manifested their full support in the pro-active undertakings of the TIPC Dipolog by signing the Manifesto of Support in the campaign against Illegal recruitment and advocacy of the Kasambahay Law.
